​​The 35th annual distinguished citizen presentation, took place Saturday Aug. 5, 2017, at the society headquarters.

​​The Forest City Area Historical Society is proud to announce
the appearance of the "Northeast Barber Shop Chorus" Tuesday June 27th at
7:00 P.M. at the FCA Historical Society Museum corner of Main and Dundaff
Streets in Forest City.  The popular Northeast Barber Shop Chorus has
performed across the region for many years to enthusiastic audiences
performing a wide range of barber shop music.  It is their first performance
at the FCA Historical Society concert hall.  Admission to this Historical
Society fund raiser is $5.00 for adults, children under 12 Free.
    While at the Forest City Area Historical Society Museum,  view the many
historical society displays of the Forest City regional area along with
their new Hometown Hero's Display.  The Museum will be open one hour before
the concert.

​Back by popular demand “The Old Time Fiddlers” bluegrass group will perform at the Forest City Area Historical Society, corner of Dundaff & Main Streets,  Friday, June 23rd at 8:00 P.M.   The group consists of nearly twenty musicians and singers from Northeastern Pennsylvania.  The group has performed at the Historical Society Concert Hall over the last several years to  large enthusiastic crowds (see photo by Roseann Swegel).  The group performs a wide range of folk and bluegrass music that you just don’t want to miss.  Admission to this fund raising event for the Forest City Area Historical  Society concert is $5.00 for adults, Children under 12 Free. 
       
​While at the Historical Society, view the many historical displays of the communities of Forest City, Vandling, Browndale & Richmondale.  Doors open one hour before the concert.

Coffee House Benefit for St. Hilaire family:

​     The Forest City Area Historical Society and the Forest City Regional School Choral Department will be holding a “Coffee House” entertainment fund raiser to assist the St. Hilaire family of Forest City who lost their home & possessions in a fire May 12th.  The St. Hilaire family consists of three young daughters ages 9, 7 and 5,  all of whom attend Forest City Regional School District.   The Coffee House entertainment event fund raiser will be held Saturday June 3rd at 1:00 P.M.  There will also be a basket raffle.  Admission is a donation for the fund at the door.  All proceeds will go to the St. Hilaire family.

Election Day Luncheon
Tuesday, May 16th from 11:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M


        The Election Day Luncheon menu will include: 
Pulled Pork Sandwiches
Hot Dogs with Sauerkraut and/or Sauce
Wimpies
Potato Salad 
Cake  
Coffee or Tea,  Soda & Water will be available.
