Hearsay A Cappella will perform at the Forest City Area Historical Society on Sunday, April 26, at 2 PM. The music from this group of talented ladies from Cornell University, covers songs from artists such as Elton John, Ingrid Michaelson, Nirvana, Stevie Nicks, and Ellie Goulding. The Historical Society is located on the corner of Main & Dundaff Streets.
“Casual Water” August 23rd
The Forest City Area Historical Society will feature, in concert, the musical group “Casual Water” August 23rd at 7:00 P.M. at the Forest City area Historical Society Museum & Concert Hall, corner of Main & Dundaff Streets. Derek Lyons of Casual Water describes his work as a blend of “Funk & Folk” music. Casual Water is currently performing at various venues across Northeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New York.

The Forest City Area Historical Society will feature Singer/Songwriter Tim McGurl in concert Sunday September 20th at 7:00 P.M. at the Historical Society Museum and Concert Hall, corner of Dundaff and Main Streets in Forest City.
Tim McGurl has been a professional musician, Singer/Songwriter for over 45 years. His musical career spans decades, since the late 1960’s. Tim has performed as a solo artist, as well as being a member of many group formations. In the mid 1970’s, Tim played in Bluegrass/old-Time,Celtic/Americana duo, simply called Tim & Butch, with the late-great Nashville mandolin master, Butch Baldassari (of Weary Hearts and the Nashville Mandolin Ensemble). Tim later went on to play with such bands including Whiskey Creek; Karma Farm; Dead Branch Band; The Mo’ Holiday Band; Bogart; and the Relics. In 1989, Tim later became one of the founding members of the Village Idiots, one of the more popular east coast jam-bands, performing music of, and in the style of the Grateful Dead, The Band, Bob Dylan and Neil Young.
Early in his career, Tim lived in Belgium in the mid-1970’s and performed in Europe’s clubs and cafes in Amsterdam, Bru8ssels, Paris and Barcelona. Tim was featured in numerous live concerts broadcast over Belgian National TV & Radio. He has interwoven many musical styles and genres, into his own original compositions, drawing from traditional Folk/Old-Time/Americana/Folk-Rock/Celtic/Rock & Roll and the Blues.
In solo performances, Tim Mcgurl will incorporate Several variously-tuned acoustic guitars to give the listener a nice sonic experience.

The Forest City Area Historical Society announces “Christmas at the Museum” Dec. 12th starting at 12:00 Noon, located at the corner of Main and Dundaff Streets Forest City, Pa. The public is invited to attend.
Starting at 12:00 Noon there will be a number of local vendors selling hand crafted items along with several types of food available: Pizza, provided by DG’s Tavern; Pulled Pork Sandwiches; butter & onions Pierogies; homemade Soup provided by Dave & Tammy of the FCA Historical Society; Cabbage & Noodles provided by Juliann Doyle of the Browndale Fire Dept; Cupcakes by Teri & Marlo Madrid.
“Children's Games & Prizes” will take place along with chances on Raffle Baskets starting at 12:00 noon.
The Cornerstone Bible Church will be providing FREE Family Photos from 1:30 to 3:30 P.M.
The area choral group Classic Voices will perform a concert “Christmas Joy” at 2:00 P.M.
The Cornerstone Worship Band will perform “A Christmas Concert” at 4:00 P.M.
The Forest City News will have the new Mark Walsh “Primeval” History of Forest City available for sale & pickup.
The FCA Historical Society will have the Forest City Board Game “Forest City-Opoly” available for sale & pickup.
The drawing for the Raffle Basket Winners will take place at 5:30 P.M.
While at the event, view the many displays at the Forest City Area Historical Society Museum.
The Greater Forest City Business Alliance will hold the annual community “Christmas Tree Lighting and Caroling” across from the Borough Hall on Main Street at 5:30 P.M., the public is invited, officiated by Forest City Mayor Pauline Wilcox.
