The Forest City Area Historical Society will present a Veteran’s Day patriotic music program and an Open House honoring the 130th anniversary of the construction of the building it now occupies as an area historical museum on Main Street in Forest City. The event, open to the public, will be Sunday, Nov, 6th, with an Open House from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. and the Veteran’s Day patriotic music program to follow.
The Open House will allow guests to view the new Hometown Heroes banners which are now on display on the walls of the museum. Photos and other memorabilia from the Forest City Area are also on display at the museum.
In honor of Veteran’s Day, the area Gospel Group “Tri-State Gospel Singers”, directed by Heather Pearsall, will be presented at 3:00 P.M. which will include patriotic & other choral music. At 4:00 P.M. the regional Dixieland band “Penn Dixie”, directed by Barney Wilkins, will perform patriotic and other music.
In addition, there will be a variety of hors D’oeuvres and desserts along with drinks for the visitors during the Open House.

The event, for young and old, will take place at the FCA Historical Society Museum, corner of Main and Dundaff Streets, 6:30 P.M. Saturday October 29th, beginning with a ‘Costume Contest’ which will be followed up by the animated 2012 comedy film “Hotel Transylvania”, rated PG.
Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place at the Costume Contest event which will start at 6:30 P.M. The movie is Free and the event will include Free Popcorn. Parents & Guardians are encouraged to bring their children to the event, all ages are welcome to come and join in the fun.

The Forest City Area Historical Society is proud to announce the return performance of the popular area traditional Bluegrass band “The Young Brothers”, Saturday October 22nd at 7:00 P.M. at the FCA Historical Society Museum & Concert Hall, corner of Main & Dundaff Streets in Forest City. The group has performed several times for the Historical Society which received extraordinary public comment about the groups stunning traditional bluegrass repertoire & and first rate performance. This is a show you don’t want to miss. Admission to this FCA Historical Society fund raiser is $5.00 per person, children under 12 Free.
